Babes in the Wood began as a traditional children's tale. The expression has passed into common language, referring to inexperienced innocents entering unawares into any potentially dangerous or hostile situation. A new definition has come to be, referring to those who enjoy the particular joie de vivre of outdoorsy, unique, and unconventional lifestyles. This definition is most often relevant to artsy types, but no stereotypes hold in the realm of these new Babes in the Woods.

Ingenuity ~ Function ~ Exploration
Babes in the Woods came to be in the summer of 2007 when we - Shelbi Lynne & Samantha - began showing our artwork together. In 2008 we opened The Babes in the Woods Gallery in downtown Anchorage to further promote Alaskan artists and artwork. In 2009 the evolution continues, and we are delighted to have become a mobile art co-operative. No longer tied to a single location, we will be roaming the state to bring our artwork to a growing audience. We are proud to be a part of Alaska's unique and growing art scene, and we are excited to see where these artistic endeavors lead us...
